We checked the published information of 60 retreat venues (45 in France, 15 in Portugal) on 29 October 2026. Retreat leaders need the same few facts to decide. Here is how many venues publish each one.
The short version
- 22 of 60 venues (37%) publish a hire price. 3 publish part of one, 1 is unclear, and 34 publish none we could find.
- 4 of 60 state a minimum number of nights.
- 13 of 60 say they offer exclusive hire. The other 47 do not say either way, so we show them as not published, not as "no".
- 28 of 60 give the size of their largest practice space in m². 52 describe a practice space at all.
- 48 of 60 say whether meals are provided: 24 catered, 8 self-catered, 16 both. 12 do not say.
- 1 of 60 publishes accessibility details.

Why prices are hard to compare
Where venues do publish a price, it comes in different currencies and units: per person per night, whole venue per night, per week. We show each price exactly as published and never convert or rank them against each other.
How we collected this
- We read each venue's published information, mostly its own website, and recorded what it publishes, with the source link and the date.
- "Not published" means we did not find it. A venue may quote prices or minimum stays by email.
- For 4 venues, the venue page carries a note about how a detail was sourced or that it needs checking (for example, a price taken from a third-party listing). Every venue page lists the sources its facts come from.
- This is our list of 60 venues. It is not every retreat venue in France and Portugal, so these figures describe our list, not the whole market.
- Venues cannot pay to change their facts. A venue can send a correction and we update the page.
